brand & trust

the short version: every brag is a real customer, nobody can cherry-pick or fake one, and there's no star rating to game.

bragbox helps businesses collect short video testimonials — "brags" — straight from real customers, and show them off on a public wall. no camera crew, no editing, no faff: a customer gets a link, records 10, 20 or 30 seconds on their own phone, and that's it.

yes. every brag comes from an actual customer a business invited to leave one — there's no public form anyone can fill in anonymously, and no way to buy or fake your way onto a wall. every submission also goes through an automated genuineness check before it's ever shown publicly, and anyone can report a brag that looks wrong.

no — and that's deliberate. once a customer's brag is published, the business can't hide, edit, crop or quietly remove it themselves. a brag has to stand as recorded: the good bit and the not-so-good bit together, not just the flattering half. if something's genuinely wrong with it — it's about the wrong business, or breaches our rules — anyone (the customer or the business) can report it and our team reviews it. that's different from a business simply not liking what it says.

no. stars and averages flatten a real conversation into a number, and numbers are easy to fake. we'd rather you hear thirty honest seconds from an actual person than trust a score. (it also means we're not in the business of ranking one business against another — see below.)

no. bragbox is a tool a business uses for its own customers and its own wall — it's not a marketplace where the public browses and compares businesses, and we don't rate or rank anyone against anyone else.

every brag is a real video of a real person, submitted through a link sent to that specific customer — there's no open submission form to spam. on top of that, every video gets an automated check before it can appear publicly, and genuinely dodgy ones (or ones flagged by a report) get a closer look from a real person.

any business that wants real proof from happy customers without the usual review-site faff — sole traders, small teams, growing brands. you don't need to be big, technical, or a marketing person to use it.

yes — built and run in the UK, pricing in GBP.

bragbox is a brand of datrbox, a UK-based company. you can read more about datrbox's own ethos at datrbox.co.uk.

yes — data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, access is restricted to authorised people, and we check the security standards of every partner we work with before we work with them. full detail is in our privacy policy.

yes, three kinds: essential ones to run the service, analytics to understand usage, and a single attribution cookie that remembers if you arrived via a referral or a brag video (kept up to 365 days, so we can apply the right trial length or credit — see "can I refer a friend?" below). non-essential cookies ask for your consent first, and you can manage all of this in your browser. full detail in our privacy policy.

no. we share data with the service providers we genuinely need to run bragbox (hosting, email, payments, that kind of thing) and nothing more — we don't sell it on to anyone for their own purposes. full detail, including this exact commitment, is in our privacy policy (section 10).

for customers

for customers (you've been asked to leave a brag)

it's your video and your call, start to finish — here's what you can expect once a business asks you for a brag.

you'll get a link from a business asking for a quick brag — it's completely up to you whether you record one, and up to you whether it's shown publicly once you have.

no. it's your video — before you submit, you're asked clearly whether it can be shown publicly, and we only share it if you say yes. if you say no, it stays private to the business — it's never published without your say.

yes, any time. every brag comes with a secure link to withdraw it — once you confirm, it comes down from public view straight away and permanent deletion begins. this can't be undone, so there's no "oops, bring it back" after.

one honest caveat: withdrawing (or reporting, or a brag simply expiring after 60 days) removes it from bragbox itself, but it can't undo anything that was already shared or downloaded before that point — same as deleting a post doesn't un-send a screenshot someone already took of it.

no. a business can't change, trim, crop, or rewrite your brag — good bits, awkward bits, all of it goes up exactly as you recorded it, or not at all.

ordinary brags stay available for 60 days, then come down for good — not archived anywhere. that's deliberate: it keeps every wall fresh and current, not a growing pile of year-old praise.

it's used to send you the request and manage your preferences — nothing more. you can ask to stop messages from a specific business, or block contact from bragbox entirely, at any time via the link in any message you receive.

no — a business can only reach you through a request you were actually sent, and you're always one tap away from opting out of future contact, separately from whether your existing brag stays up.

only people who visit that business's public wall, and only while your brag is active, public, and hasn't been withdrawn, removed, or expired. the business itself can still see it on their own dashboard even if it's not public.

it's your video, but there's no direct-download button for you on bragbox itself. what you can always do: watch it on the business's public wall if they've published it, report it if something's wrong, or use the withdraw link in your messages if you'd rather it came down.

your customers already love you. fancy putting that to work?

for businesses

for businesses (thinking about signing up)

no sales calls, no contracts you can't see — just what collecting bragbox testimonials actually costs, how it works, and what you're allowed to do with what you collect.

see current pricing on the home page — it's a simple monthly subscription, no enterprise-style sales calls required.

no — every business gets a 7-day free trial with no card needed up front.

through stripe, a payment processor used by millions of businesses worldwide — we never see or store your full card details ourselves. your subscription renews monthly until you cancel.

no to both — see "do businesses get to pick and choose which reviews to show?" above. no deleting it, no cropping out the bit you'd rather customers didn't see. a wall full of brags a business hand-picked and tidied up wouldn't be worth much to anyone looking at it — play fair, show the good bit and the not-so-good bit together. if a brag is genuinely wrong (wrong business, breaches our rules) that's a report, not a delete button.

you send a customer a link (by text, email, or both) asking for a quick video. they record it on their own phone — no app to install — and it lands on your dashboard, then (with their permission) on your public wall.

both, your choice. send a personal link to one named customer, or switch on your reusable link and QR code so anyone can leave a brag without you sending anything first — handy for a till-side sign or a table card. the two work differently under the hood (a personal link is one-time use; the reusable one has a short per-customer cooldown so it can't be spammed), but either way it's your call which to use, or both.

yes, optional — up to 30 seconds, shown to the customer before they record their own. customers can skip it if they want to get straight to recording, and you can switch yours off temporarily without deleting it.

yes — add an external review link and, after an eligible brag, we'll offer to send the customer straight there too. two birds, one ask.

no — your customer just needs their own phone. there's nothing to install, film, or edit on your end.

yes — a fixed amount or percentage-off discount you switch on yourself. it only ever appears after someone's already submitted their brag, never before and never as part of the ask — so it can't influence what they actually say. you handle redeeming the code on your own till/checkout; bragbox just displays the offer.

yes — download the contacts who've given you marketing permission (email, SMS, or both, whichever they chose) straight from your dashboard, ready to build your crew in your own marketing system. anyone who withdraws permission later drops out of future downloads.

they stay live for 60 days from submission, then come down automatically — you'll get a heads-up by email beforehand so you can save anything you want to keep. it's a deliberate choice, not a limitation: it keeps your wall fresh and current rather than accumulating indefinitely.

depends which sharing level the customer chose when they submitted it. "let it fly" brags are yours to download and reuse — your own site, social media, ads, wherever. "wall only" brags stay on your wall exactly as recorded, with no download option. "private" brags never leave your dashboard.

for a "let it fly" brag, it's yours to use in full, and you can edit it to fit your own brand — trim it for length, add your own captions, imagery or branding. what you can't do is anything that changes its meaning or the overall impression a reasonable viewer would take from the whole thing: no cutting a caveat to make it sound more glowing, no reordering to shift its context, and nothing that turns someone's personal experience into what reads like a factual claim or guarantee you haven't actually made elsewhere.

just the customer's own recording — 10, 20 or 30 seconds, nothing scripted, staged, or edited afterwards. we add a small branded end card once it finishes, giving the viewer a choice: find out more about your business, or find out more about bragbox.

yes, in a couple of ways. anyone who follows the "find out more about bragbox" link or QR code on one of your brags gets an extended trial if they sign up — and if they go on to subscribe to a paid plan, you get a small reward too. we share the love both ways, automatically, no need to ask.

yes — every paying business gets their own referral link from their dashboard, separate from the discovery link above. share it, and if a friend signs up and subscribes through it, you both benefit (current reward amounts and any limits are shown on your referrals page, since they can change from time to time).

you keep access to what you're owed for the period you've paid for; your public wall and existing brags follow the same rules either way — nothing gets deleted early just because you've cancelled.
